The Canvas Home Basics Color Palette
Canvas Home Basics offers six neutral paint colors, plus a white, that make up the Canvas Naturals Collection. Neutrals are soothing, completely flattering, and extremely versatile. With this palette, Canvas Home Basics’ panel of Interior Designers have worked hard to remove the fear from any decorating project. They have selected this palette of neutral colors so that no matter which colors you mix and match they will look beautiful. You can’t make a wrong color choice when you follow our Canvas Home Basics Naturals Color Selection Guide.
We have divided our nine neutral colors into three color groups: Canvas Naturals One (moss undertones), Canvas Naturals Two (umber undertones) and Canvas Naturals Three (golden undertones).
For TIPS on choosing which color group is right for you, see our Canvas Home Basics Naturals Color Selection Guide. For the color guide or actual paint chip colors, please contact us or call at 1-866-376-9961.
Canvas Naturals One with its linen undertones provides a beautiful background for a room that features pure whites, dark stained floors, linens in grays and browns. This palette supports cooler tones such as blues, greens and purples with accents of red. Accent metals for this palette are silvers and chromes and very clean. It is best to stay away from Palette One if floors are oak or stained golden colors, stone in golden and beige tones and yellow and buttery linens and accessories. Palette One is a very flexible palette that works well with most colors. Texture is key to this palette and works well when mixing similar colors in light tone as well as strong contrast with light and dark tones.
Canvas Naturals Two contains our favorite neutral, Canvas. This palette is rich and uplifting. This Palette is warm with its golden undertones works well with creams and whites. Unlike Palette One, these colors love beautiful oak and golden stained flooring as well as golden toned stone and tile. Accent metals for this palette are copper, rust, bronze and verdigris. Paired with caramel, toffee, rust, oranges and beige this palette is warm and inviting. In creating the perfect Canvas in Palette Two it is best to avoid pinks, purples, taupes, blues and bright colors. Black, dark stain such as cherry and other dark linen colors overpower the room and take away from the richness created.
Canvas Naturals Designer White is the perfect color when creating a very crisp environment. White is a very flexible base color, working with almost any color. To get the most out of this color or to bring the most out of an existing space pair white with light flooring, white tiling and flooring and painted woodwork. As with most of the palette’s stay away from too much creamy yellow and golden tones. When paired with black it can create a very dramatic visual or it can take away from the overall crisp and clean effect, you must choose the outcome you wish to have. White is a great canvas to feature dramatic artwork that is vibrant in color and is the focal point of the room. Pop colors are very flexible and can reflect your personal taste, season or time of the year. Our favorites are primary, bright colors, but more subtle natural colors will work as well. Another nice pairing is grays or grays and sands mixed. Clean lines and less texture seem to work best when working with white introducing special textural pieces that become art within the room. White is very flexible and this canvas can take on many different looks with just a few simple changes.
