The Canvas Home Basics™ (CHB) Homespacing Line was created to make space planning and room design simple, easy and fun. The line was innovatively designed to provide the tools and education that walk you through the interior design process and visually bring ideas to life.
Just as one would never buy a dress or suit without first trying it on, never should one buy a sofa or armoire without first seeing how it fits in the space. Canvas Home Basics provides the tools necessary to assist everyone in the planning process for room makeovers, furniture space plans, new home design, remodeling projects and more. The “Homespacing” line was created in ¼” scale; taking furniture and accessories to a manageable size.
The “Homespacing” process breaks down into four easy steps, beginning with the basic measurements of the space, finding the inspiration to bring the visual plan to life and to finalize the process when the room is actually completed. The Homespacing products bring together the steps and provide the tools, education and design tips that are the perfect solution for Creative Do It Yourselfers and Designers looking for an easy method of bringing their interior design ideas to life.
The “Homespacing” process breaks down into four easy steps:
Step 1: Measure & Draw – Simply bring room into ¼” scale by measuring one square for one foot.
Step 2: Plan & Space – Work with furniture stickers to create space plans based on inspiration from magazines, books, catalogs, etc.
Step 3: Design & Visualize – Color your space plan with pencils or markers based on your collection of fabrics, paint colors, flooring samples, etc. and create your design board.
Step 4: Create & Decorate – Now the fun begins. Bring your design board to life and decorate or remodel your space. Along with the basic tools the line provides tips and education from the interior design field focusing on the basic elements of design such as balance, scale, symmetry, function and design. “Homespacing” is designed to work with all design styles and encourage an individual approach. When the process is completed from start to finish and you have thought through inspiration, function, style and the space environment, a plan is in place. Better decisions are made and fewer changes are required.
