Frequently Asked Questions

How do these kits compare to others on the market? The majority of kits on the market today focus only on furniture space planning and do not offer permanent floor plans for reference or taking or bringing together the space plan and the design elements. These kits generally sell for hundreds of dollars. The CHB Room Spacing Kits walk you through the process from the space plan to the design stage leaving a permanent design road map that you use through the design process or you can leave with your clients.

How much does one Room Spacing Kit cost? The kits retail for under $10.

Do I get the fabric and furniture images in the kit? No the kits are designed to be the blank canvas and you provide the fabrics of your choice, the furniture pieces that inspire you and the finishes that you would like to see in the space.

Where can I buy a Room Spacing Kit? The kits are new to the market, but making their way to retailers throughout the US and Canada. To locate a store e-mail us at info@canvascorp.com .

Can I get all the rooms in one pack? We currently offer the kits by room allowing you to choose the relevant room and also allowing us to provide a wide range of sticker options within each kit. We will soon release the CHB Homespacing Planner for Redecorating that provides a wide range of stickers in the rooms most often redecorated.

Do I have to follow the board layouts shown on the front? Not at all, this is a guide to show you how the process works. Use the design board as your blank canvas and design your space plan and your board to suit your needs. If the 8.5x11 board is not large enough to represent your space, you can purchase larger mat boards at your local art or craft store.

What do you recommend to color the stickers? The matte finished stickers were designed to work with a variety of art materials including art markers, water color markers, pencils, chalk, ink, etc. Feel free to experiment to see what works best for you. To allow you to see the furniture sizes, try using a lighter shade of the color that best represents the color scheme, for example use grey vs. black.

When will you offer kits for the kitchen and bath? It was our goal to introduce kits for the rooms that are most often decorated and redecorated first. We are working on kits that are more focused on remodeling such as kitchen, bath and laundry and hope to release later in 2008.

I am working with an interior designer, is this something they should provide to me? The kits were designed to aid in the design process, allowing the client to represent their idea for the space whether it represents the furniture layout, colors or style. The kits provide a means to visually express these ideas. The kits also provide an interactive way to work together on the space and determine the best space plan.

How long am I able to move the repositionable stickers before they become permanent? The stickers do not ever become permanent and will remain sticky for numerous moves. Once placed, the stickers will remain in their final location without slipping or moving.

What do I do if the piece of furniture I have does not match any of the stickers? We worked very hard to offer a wide variety of furniture pieces in various sizes and styles, but knew that we would not be able to offer everything. If the size is close, we recommend either cutting the sticker down slightly and noting the correct size or sketching the piece directly onto the graph paper using the scale ruler to help you achieve the correct size.

Where did you find the small images of furniture and accessories? The web has become a great resource for designers to locate furniture pieces for their projects. The internet allows you to have a wide range of furniture pieces in various styles, shapes and colors. We simply right click the item and move to a document for resizing and printing. Print on photo paper for the clearest image.
